About

A young woman with brown hair and bangs stands in front of a decorative blue, yellow, and white tiled wall. She is wearing a turquoise top, brown pants, and accessorized with sunglasses on her head, a white polka-dotted scarf around her neck, hoop earrings, and a bracelet. She is holding a small pink drink in her right hand and has a black bag over her shoulder.

Born and raised in West Michigan, among great oaks and singing cicadas — I have grown to adore and explore the environment that surrounds me through many mediums — including painting, print, and word. I hold a BFA in Art and Design from the University of Michigan.

My work explores the relationship between the space in which you live and the relationship you have within it. I am inspired by connection, kindness, and color. Finding the cross between the tangible and intangible through objective form and layered textures instructs my methods of reflection. I am fascinated with birds, movement, color, delicate desires, flowers, bodies, etc. I gravitate toward painting as a way to translate lived experience into something intimate and honest.

I wake to sleep and take my waking slow
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear
I learn by going where I have to go
